E-Commerce B2B Setup - Notifications
The Notifications section of E-Commerce B2B Setup page contains the settings for notifications that you receive upon Storefront events - new orders, new comments for the orders placed previously, and new customer sign-ups.
You can access this page by using Search, or Departments / E-Commerce B2B menu.
E-Commerce B2B supports sending the notifications in two ways - e-mail and My Notifications part of the Role Center, which is included in the E-Commerce Role Center by default.
Notifications e-mails, as opposed to customer e-mails that you send from Dynamics NAV, are technically sent by the Storefront, in order to guarantee you will receive the notification even in an unlikely case there is a replication failure and the appearing of the order in Dynamics NAV is delayed. Even though sent from the Storefront, notification e-mails will use your SMTP Mail Setup from Dynamics NAV, which must be properly configured. The SMTP server itself should accept connections from the Storefront.

E-Mail Notification Recipient | Specifies who will receive e-mail notifications on Storefront events. Preset - Notifications are sent only to the e-mail address specified in E-Mail Notifications To. Salesperson - Notifications are sent to the Salesperson of the Customer placing the order. E-mail address from the respective Salesperson Card is used. Both - Notifications are sent to both the preset address and the Salesperson. |
E-mail Notificatios From | Specifies the From address to use for notification e-mails. |
E-Mail Notifications To | If E-Mail Notification Recipient is Preset or Both, specifies the e-mail address that will receive the notifications. |
My Notification Recipient | Specifies who will receive My Notification messages on Storefront events. Preset - My Notifications are sent only to the User specified in My Notifications To. Salesperson - My Notifications are sent to the Salesperson of the Customer placing the order. The link between Dynamics NAV User IDs and Salespersons must be established in the User Setup table. Both - My Notifications are sent to both the preset user and the Salesperson. |
My Notifications From | Specifies the From User ID for the My Notifications messages. Can be any string, e.g. ECOMMERCE. |
My Notifications To | If My Notification Recipient is Preset or Both, specifies the User who will receive the notifications. |
Notify of New Orders | Specifies whether and how notifications should be sent upon new orders in the Storefront. |
Template - Order Notif. | The e-mail text body template for e-mails that are notifications on new orders. Upon generating an e-mail body, the system will compose the standard text body according to the template selected. See Setting Up E-Mail Templates for more details. |
Notify of New Order Comments | Specifies whether and how notifications should be sent upon new order comments in the Storefront. |
